Seeing race-goers attend the Melbourne Cup Carnival will be a sight for sore eyes this year after a lot of the Eastern Seaboard has barely wandered beyond their block for what feels like an eternity. With so much time at home, we thought we’d share some of our top tips for getting ready to enjoy one of the biggest social events of the year. So what do we suggest you do and when?
The Day Before
Leave yourself enough time to prep your hands and feet. No outfit is complete without a fresh mani/pedi so book into your favourite nail salon and enjoy an afternoon of pampering and relaxing before the big day. Wind down with a nourishing facemask, like this one from tatcha, to prep the skin for the makeup it may not be as used to anymore. Lastly, put on your fave Wanderluxe pyjamas and tuck yourself in early so you’re well rested for a big day ahead.
On The Day
Start the day off right by slipping on your Kimono Robe and pop on some tunes to get ready to. Indulge in your favourite breakfast and maybe a cheeky mimosa or two! Click here for our breakfast recommendations. Follow your go to makeup and hair routine that you know you’ll love and pack your clutch with only the bare essentials. Have a big glass of water to keep you hydrated. Most importantly, enjoy being out and about. Be present and appreciate the company, the atmosphere and of course, the outfits!

Post Race Day
Nothing is more exhausting than a long day out in the sun with maybe a few too many drinks. Hop straight into the shower/bath and wash the day away with a replenishing body wash, like this one from Salus. It will make you feel fresh and will soothe your skin after being outside all day. We suggest treating yourself to your favourite UberEats and curling up in a fresh pair of Wanderluxe pyjamas for the rest of the evening. You’ve had a massive day, the first in a while, so enjoy the slow wind down as you recover from your day at the Races!
