To rehash the makings of Wanderluxe’s brand-new capsule collection, we caught up with Founder Sherri Kiernikowski to talk through the inspiration behind ‘The Morning Of’. When asked how this idea first bloomed, Sherri recalls that “even before the pandemic, would receive regular enquiries about bridal packages, particularly in the lead up to wedding season”.

“COVID originally delayed our plans for a bridal-specific range, but now that weddings are back, we’re so excited to move into this fabulous category. Weddings are incredibly special and involve so much thought and planning. We see our sleepwear being the perfect addition to the getting ready ritual — not to mention, the best wedding gift for your bridesmaids, complete with an option to monogram all of our pieces.”

How tailoring and sleepwear instinctually intersect.

Believe it or not, this enamoured range of luxe sleepwear is highly influenced by Sherri’s strong career background in men’s tailoring. “I grew up immersed in my family’s men's suiting business. I represent the 4th generation of this business, which dates back to 1907. I grew up around fabric rolls, swatches, mannequins, sewing machines and racks of suits.”

“For my own wedding, every detail counted, I loved getting ready with my family and best friends. I would have loved to have matching PJs to get ready in. I loved my wedding dress, it was made by Toni Maticevski and we designed it together. It was all about the detail — and interestingly, the finer detail, just like in our PJs.”

“These elements should follow form as well as function, enhancing the luxury feel. I spend a lot of time designing each product to ensure that each is true to form and espouses the Wanderluxe brand. I incorporate intricate details into the style carefully and thoughtfully so that they are truly unparalleled.”

“My favourite part of the business is creating something new and seeing it come together, from the creation of the fabric all the way right through to picking the trimmings. These are what make all the difference. I love experimenting with details that truly bring the products to life, and make them feel worthy of a wedding day. I am obsessed with having a product that the wearer will truly love – something that they can have and hold for so many years to come”
