We decided it was time to explore a new fabrication to add to our collection. We have always loved silk for so many reasons, it is incredibly comfortable, feels amazing and looks fabulous on all body types, not to mention being eco friendly and biodegradable. As a result, we couldn’t resist introducing this delicate and dreamy fabric, giving our customers the opportunity to experience the luxury of silk.

- What happens to silk when it gets wet?
Silk becomes extremely delicate when it gets wet. Although silk is a durable strong fabric, the strength of wet silk is only 80% that of its dry strength. This means its fibres can break more easily and stretch out of shape when wet.
- Does tumble drying silk ruin it?
Yes, it does. To dry your Wanderluxe Silk Sleepwear, we suggest you press the garment between a towel or your hands to remove any excess moisture. Lay flat in a shaded area to air dry and never put in the tumble dryer.
- Does silk have to be dry-cleaned?
Our silk can be dry cleaned but we recommend hand washing your silk pyjama sets in cold water using a delicate wash detergent.
- Can I put silk in the washing machine?
On no occasion should you put your Wanderluxe silk pyjama sets in the washing machine. We recommend hand wash only in cold water using a delicate wash detergent to preserve the life of the garment and the saturation of its colour.
- Can you iron 100% silk?
We recommend ironing or steaming your garments to restore lustre and sheen to the silk. Use your iron's delicate or lowest heat setting.
- What's the difference between silk and satin?
Although these two fabrics look quite similar, their components are vastly different. Satin is a weave opposed to silk is made up of delicate natural fibres. Silk is a stronger, breathable fabric that will hold its shape for longer, while Satin is typically made from synthetic materials, making it less absorbent leaving you waking up feeling hot and clammy.
